I received the following message from PayPal regarding PayPal site updates for the next 6 weeks.  Please try not to make payments during these times.

As you may know, we recently moved the website, systems and databases that comprise PayPal to a new data center located in Salt Lake City.  Now that PayPal is in its new location, a series of minor database hardware upgrades are needed which are scheduled to occur each Thursday in the upcoming weeks through the end of June.  This will be our only notification unless there are significant changes to the schedule.

·         Thursday, May 31

Between 11:00 p.m. PDT until approximately 11:10 p.m. PDT, while not definitive, there’s a chance that due to a database upgrade, all merchants could experience a slight increase in declines.  For more details and the various API errors that may increase during this work, go here.

 

·         Thursday, June 7

Between 11:00 p.m. PDT until approximately 11:30 p.m. PDT, transactions older than 30 days will not be available to reference (ie: Reference Transactions, Refunds, Voids, etc), will not appear under history and will not be included in the download log during this maintenance period.  Transactions referenced that are older than 30 days will fail.

  

·         Thursday, June 14

Between 11:00 p.m. PDT until approximately 11:10 p.m. PDT, the majority of API requests will be unsuccessful.  PayPal API calls will fail with a 10001 (internal) error code and Adaptive Payment API calls will fail with a 520002 (internal) error code.  PayPal Payments Pro (formerly known as Website Payments Pro – Payflow Edition) API calls will also not complete and may fail with the 1000 (generic host) error, 102 (processor not available), 104 (timeout waiting for processor) or 109 (timeout waiting for host) errors.  In addition, the PayPal.com site will also be unavailable.  For more details on this event, go here.  

 

·         Thursday, June 21

Between 11:00 p.m. PDT until approximately 11:30 p.m. PDT, Instant Payment Notifications will be delayed while a database is being upgraded.  For more details on this event, go here.

 

·         Thursday, June 28
